It was one of those moments – those Holy Spirit moments. Oh, I didn’t have goose bumps, and I didn’t hear a voice. I just knew . . .
A Christmas song got things rolling. Though many times the music is on in the background, my mind was engaged this time, and my spirit struggled with some of the words (next post will explain the issue). As is typical for me, I immediately began planning how the words would best be shared on the blog. At the same time, it didn’t need a full-length piece to get the thoughts across – like so many other seemingly random insights and struggles that have been rocking my world. That’s when Holy Spirit pushed that little spot in me – that knowing spot – and this new category called not so random came into being.
The posts won’t be as long as most of the others. They may seem fairly random, too, as the insights have seemed when they have come to me. Somehow, though, I know they are part of a much bigger picture – a very important one. These things are parts of what the Lord is doing in this day, even if we don’t see right now how it comes together.
I look forward to where this newest nudge (and all the shaking and rocking yet to be seen) will take us as we continue our not so random journey in Christ.
Hebrews 12:26-28 NIV 26 At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.” 27 The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken — that is, created things — so that what cannot be shaken may remain. 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe . . .
